MARPs Project with FGAE

Tulane University, Center for Global Health Equity in close collaboration with the Family Guidance Association Ethiopia (FGAE) has developed an EMR module to serve confidentiality clinics for Most at Risk Populations (MAPRs).

The developed and deployed TenaCareEMR that includes STI , HIV and PMTCT modules deployed and connecting all point of care within the confidentiality clinics geared towards continuity of care and meets the data and report requirements of FGAE. Since 2015, the EMR has been implemented and is serving ten confidential STI clinics of FGAE to capture and manage data generated during patient-provider clinical encounters. Patient unique identification using biometric scanners , appointment, communication among care providers on patient matter, viewing previous medical information and drug interaction history, ordering laboratory tests, prescribing medications in STI clinics are some of key featured supported by implemented TenaCareEMR STI module.


The TenacareeHMIS/PHEM is one of the national components of the holistic approach to modernize national health information system.
